Pro Bloggin'
One similarity I'm finding between pro bloggers is their fascination with links. Bloggers seem to rely on links to first find interesting content and then later push others towards it. I find the act of making money off blogs very compelling and attractive. I need to get into this business, but doubt that my skills are worthy of advertisers interest. One aspect I don't quite get or like is the rating scale; one thing I enjoy about the internet is how everyone is equal or was equal at one time. I believe creating a popularity contest sets a goal to reach the top no matter how genuine. There are techniques a blogger could use to appeal to the masses strictly for views and sully the original intentions of the weblog.

It is interesting how many people are able to make a living --or at least a partial living-- off of their blogs. I think the key is to provide unique content that satisfies a niche audience who is loyal and attractive to advertisers. Apparently there are more professional bloggers than there are people employed as newspaper reporters at the moment.
ReplyDeleteHmm... yes yes.
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, internet advertising is as close to free money as we can get without winning the lottery. Once you establish credibility for a site (or blog) advertisers come to YOU--with cash!
Tis my dream to create a site full of weight-loss ads, free iPod links, and pop-up ads for natural penis enhancers!
